Landscape Design
*All design fees are collected before shared with customers. If you choose to move forward with BTC on the project, your design fee is taken off the final invoice.
DESIGN CONSULTATION
The design process starts with a consultation meeting at your home to identify specific needs and what or what cannot be done in the areas needing help. This usually only takes an hour to complete and is a free service to be sure we are a good fit for you (a drivetime cost may be applied depending on your location). Once the consult is complete the drawing process begins. A copy of your plot plan showing the property lines and where the house sits on the property will help keep the drawing closer to scale. It is not required but it will save design time/costs and prevent the need for additional measurements.
After the initial consultation your designer will take all the given information and begin the actual design. Our drawings are created on a simple, 8 1/2x11 sheet of paper. The drawing will show all of the new bed shapes, plants' locations, existing plants that are to remain or be transplanted, lighting, hardscaping etc.

All drawings are accompanied by a numbered Plant List corresponding to the numbered plants on the design. We can use specific plants from a plant list you provide or you can leave it to our creativity to come up with a list of options as well.

DESIGN EXAMPLES AND PROCESS
The initial consultation is a free meeting depending on your location. Our designs are charged at $90 per hour and a minimum fee of $90 for all drawings under an hour. Every house and every design is different but, on average, most designs take about 3-4 hours for a front/back section of the yard and about 5-6 hours to complete for an entire yard. It will depend on how detailed the drawing needs to be, the size of the yard and the spaces being designed. We can design a single bed or an entire yard.
WHY GET A DRAWING DONE?
Landscape design plans are great for anyone needing a "road map" to help them to "do-it-yourself" or get bids on the designed work by us or any other landscaper. It is perfect for helping to get an HOA approval by showing a professional layout by an experienced designer. Other landscaping companies in our area use our design services regularly to help them with creative plans for their own customers.
Basic Design
This is a straightforward, affordable option for front yards and smaller backyard projects.
Mid-Level Design
This is the most common choice for larger Cincinnati area homes. It includes a concept sketch review and a free round of revisions based on your feedback. The design typically takes a bout 2 weeks.
Complex Design
These elaborate plans usually take little more time than the Mid-Level designs to complete, and they're essential for complex projects that require extra attention to design details
